lpg cars slow?

are lpg cars any slower than normal petrol cars? there is a 1.8 sri duel fuel with prodrive kit on auto trader for 3.5k wonder if its worth a look?

i think they are slightly slower (not much) and run hotter

Bloke at work has had several LPG cars, and no real noticible difference once running on LPG.

I also knew someone that ran his vectra 1.8 on LPG and said he could not notice a change from pertrol or LPG performance wise.

I never drove it so can not say.

When my Vectra was working (many moons ago Boo Hoo) there was no noticeable difference what so ever.
Some people reckon about 5-10 bhp difference.....but even if true, the saving of fuel makes it a good option.
Also the systems are switchable .... if you really want the grunt ... flick it to petrol.

Nope...my OLD system, started up in petrol, (as they all do) had a warm up period then automatically switched to LPG (unless I selected it off on start up)
Modern systems, it`s up to the driver after starting if he/she wants it to then run on LPG.....fully switchable even when driving.
(not recomended when giving it some!!!!!!)

No you dont, as Drakey says it is switchable or just run it on pertrol.

there is a black 1.8 sri with prodrive for 3.5k with 50k miles on the clock! does the boot space get affected by the extra tank? i want my subs back in the car

If it's a proper LPG one done by Vauxhall, there shouldn't really be an issue with boot space
