Engine starting from cold

Hey guys just wondered what other peoples car's did when starting from cold as when i start mine it idle's at about 2,000 revs for a couple of seconds then drops down in stages till it sits at 1,000k over a period of probably 10 seconds. Is this normal? other engine did this aswell so is it something to do with TB?

Sounds fine to me. Very similar to mine.

sounds about right, sometimes cleaning the tb and resetting the ecu helps, but they all do it to a degree

like an auto choke based on engine and exhaust temps

i know the earlier ecotec engines had a secondary air valve to pump to pump warm air down the exhaust on cold starts to help the cat and lambda

i think we have pre cats

Is it only lumpy when on gas in the cold weather?

Not lumpy at all buddy just high revving for the first 10 secs or so thats all i was bothered about really

just the ecu controlling the idle speed to stop the car stalling

mine does it in around 4 stages
