Who To Use For A Map?

Which company should i use to get a remap? is needs to be one who can do stuff witht eh 2.4 manifold and cams ect.

to be honest there is really only tms or courtenays

unless anyone knows somewhere else that has actually mapped the 2.4 inlet manifold ?

i think i will have to use TMS as courtenays is just to far away from me and i go to college in milton keynes.
what are they like as a company??

they are ok, just the 2.4 remap is about £500 so make sure you are not going to do any more mods

yer thats why i aint going to do it till i got manifold and down pipe done. then me done.

Honestly I'd suggest you go Courtenay
I still doubt TMS really have full access to the ECU as the post remap dynos always just show the same pattern as original ones, just a bit higher. Looks like a simple sensor hack to me, not full remaps but I may be wrong

the only prob with courtnays is they are over 140+ miles from me and not like i could do that in a day thing and there is nothing to do up there either.

Might be worth looking at this thread viewtopic.php?f=69&t=9764&p=110986#p110986 Page 4 gives my final impressions. Since then I've fitted the 4-2-1 manifold. The car is a touch dodgy to start once warm/hot and requires a bit of technique to get it going. There is also a definate drop in torque mid range. It could do with another remap but there's no way I'll go down that road again until someone has fully cracked the ecu.

You big wuss! Courtenay is 263 miles from my front door and I went up and back in a day when I had my sport clutch & lightened flywheel done!

hmm ok thanks for that. as thats what i need doing the most is sorting out my over fueling. is there a piggy back ecu for us or anyhting like that?

well its 161miles which is over 3 hrs driving but would they be able to map it in one day as from reading what TMS they took 5 weeks lol dunno..

TBH i would stay over, it took a fair few hrs to do a members car when we went for the RR meet there it was a 1.6 16V with a few mods the map was sent back a few times and was on the rollers alot to make sure it was right, which is what you want.

But if it is 6hr drive and maybe 6- 1/2hrs mapping it may be a long day might be worth staying over.

Yeah, I can vouch for that! (It was my car they mapped on the Friday). We got their at 12pm, and they were still mapping it at 6:15pm as they were closing up!

There is apparently a nice B&B quite near to them if you were stopping over. Give Jon or Mark a call and speak to them about it.

It's 5 hours from me (261 miles) and I'm planning to do it in 1 day :o
but then I do like a good drive with some good music

spoke to courtaney and they sad the map is £295 and the to custom it all in will be charged at a hourley rate of £85 which he said should only be a couple of hours.

That's not a bad news, looks like they really have full access to the maps now...

that does sound like a good deal/price.The one thing i would like to see from these expensive mapping sessions
is a consistant fuel mixture across the rev range as all the print outs i have seen have looked like an outline
of a mountain range :roll:
