My off-side rear claliper has been siezing for the last few days, i think because of the cold weather. I have the Bosch calipers which i know are a 'common problem' on the Astra G which is why they were changed to Lucas on the later models.
Now, i am certain that Vauxhall did a recall on some because of this and replaced the faulty Bosch calipers with Lucas however my car, apprently, was not part of this re-call. I have spoken with my local Vaux dealership, Vaux customer care and the Vaux re-call info line and have basically been fobbed off. Because my car was not within the re-call there's nothing they can, or rather will, do about it.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and managed to get them done free of charge or at a reduced rate by Vaux?
I can't understand how they can refuse to replace something which they know was faulty, as far as i am aware it was all of the Bosch calipers that were problematic and not just a few of them..hence why i'm having the same problem.
How much would a set of Lucas Calipers set me back if i were to replace them, would prefer not to get them from Vaux if possible!?
