Are Microsoft still able to detect the fact you are using flashed firmware on the DVD drive? That was one of the reasons I never did this, as I like using XBOX live

Alot of people are worried about this... especially with the new dashboard. the new firmware has been tested and so far they cannot detect you unless you do something stupid like you play a game online against someone when infact that game has not been released yet - bit of a give away really.

I have 3 console all on live and all play fine.

The new dashboard lets you play the games from the HDD, but it still needs the disc in for the initial load. Does make playing the game faster, as it loads new data a hell of a lot quicker

Only thing i would say about the new consoles is that some of the drives one being the philips one as of yet cannot be flashed "yet" but hitachi's and samsungs and benqs are easy done.
