its a shame cos the old ecotec engines had gearboxes where you could drop the shafts out and undo a few bolts and you could take the diff out
pick up a diff in a scrappie for peanuts
you will notice the diff is gone when jolting accelerating and braking and at take off
if you done the arb linkages with new suspension arms then it leaves very little else
like i said get the car on a ramp and give the shafts a good tugging, as if your trying to pull a 20 stone black man off ya girlfriends ass :p
if your getting movement on the shafts with noise then get someone to get their ear next to the gearbox, you will then notice where the noise is coming from
if your driveshafts are gone then when u accelerate you will just get a crunching banging noise and no acceleration except revs
