OIL LIGHT STAYING ON FOR 1/2 - 1 MILE. HELP

we will see how it goes, before we use an engine flush, as kev put brand new oil in last night. i rekon he will do that in a couple of weeks. cheers for all the advice.

if it is a blockage then consider yourself very lucky nothing overheated and it spat out a big end bearing

yes maybe this car was made by a devil ,and likes the number 66,666. we have gone back to 10/40w oil. maybe the engine is now happy..

I guess its a good lesson in changing your engine oil frequntly if nothing else, and why I flush mine every time. It must have never had an oil change from manufacture if its that gunked up.

thats what we reckoned, it had a full service history? most of them from vauxhall. the oil filter had got what looked like metal fillings in it. the sump was so full of crap. ie chemical metal,in it that someone had previosly drilled a hole through the mesh filter. the sump was cracked. replaced that lot, then the head went, i think the previous owners bodged it up and got rid of it. still went out today... NO RED LIGHT. hopefully its now cured.

Glad you may have got it sorted, when you mention the speedo at 66,666 how bizarre, the odometer's not going backwards is it!! and you haven't named the car 'CHRISTINE' (you'll understand if you've seen the movie) if so it's probably re-building itself !!, sorry just couldn't resist LOL!!
Seriously though, I hope you have sorted it.
