after nearly six months of my vectra sat on my drive I have decided to try and repair it (although still not completly sure whats wrong with it!) I have gone from vauxhall telling me that It will cost me 3000 quid to get fixed from some complete idiot mechanic from my finance company being sent down from bristol? (i live in southampton) to tell me there is nothing wrong with it.
Symptoms are heavy oil usage (3LTS every week and a half)
Now using water (with sludge in expansion tank)
On the plus side the car still starts first turn of the key and still drives so dont want to get rid of it.
Would I get away with just head gasket?
Is there any thing else I would be wise to do while its in bits?
