accelerator sensor?

hi people, i'm thinking of buying my brother a vec b 1.8 sxi because he has a 1.6 focus (dirty blue oval crap) which keeps going going through bearings and bits going wrong! i have found a vec b 1.8 sxi but the engine mangment light is on because of the accelerator sensor is duff the bloke says it still drives and the light comes on and off, does any one know how much the sensor would be and is it hard to fix?

you can use any vectra z engined throttle pedal, so I think theres a couple of z22se's being broken in the classified section or theres ebay

if it's not the pedal it could be the throttle body, but be warned the z1.8 does suffer from bad ecu's, which are not cheap to replace 🙁

my brother went to see the vectra today, and the ecu read out said its the throttle position sensor is this the one on the pedal?
