ok so last year i got my timing chain replaced by a vauxhall dealer eventually after loads of hassle( the sister company of who i bought my car through) a week later i still had the same tapping noise, so i took it back and they took the car for the full day to see what was up with it, after having the car for 7 hours they decide its the alternator tensioner. and it would cost £140+ to replace.
so i dont get it done cos i dont like the garage and want a second opinion, so i eventually get round to doing it this week, i take it to my local vauxhall garage and guess what they say it doesnt need changing, there no excessive noise coming from it and the noise of the engine sounds ok all i need done is my service (which is the major one) and he advises an engine flush.
so its a good job i didnt get that garage to do it otherwise i would have been £140 out of pocket for smething that didnt even need changing, bunch of twats :evil:
