I am in the process of replacing the chain and seem to have a problem. Hopefully somebody out there canhelp me.
I have lined up the timing chain coloured links to those identified on the inlet and exhaust sprockets, also line up to the crankshaft to the coloured link, and I have also ensured the engine is TDC. However when I rotate the engine after fitting it all back, at varying points between the cam sprockets I am getting slack in the chain, which when rotated further clicks back into position.
I have actually done the settings 3 times now (I cannot seem to find a hire shop for the locking tool!) and I get the same result every time. I am loathe to put everything back together, unless somebody out there can tell me this is normal.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
