I had a previous post on my car being a slow starter. Think I'm starting to track it down (equally slowly). This little inkling was brought to my attention after a little chat with Mike last night. When I first turn the key the fuel pump spins up then stops, obviously makes pressure and cuts out. When I get it started there is a good 1.5M jet of fuel out the rail valve (clears the car and up the house wall!). HOWEVER, when I turn off the car there is immediately no residual pressure and after the first whir of the pump and it cutting out there is no pressure again. I assume the regulator would retain some pressure in the rail for some time?? This would make sense for the poor starting if it has to build pressure again after the initial prime.
Also, where is it? I havent looked on the car and the parts manual is a bit confusing as to its location. Just thought I'd ask as you guys are very handy!
Do you reckon I'm on theright lines?
