K70_RAF Has anyone else suffered a kinda hiccup every now and then almost as thought the car stamps on the brakes for no reason or doesn't have enough fuel?? Could i possibly need to uprate the injectors or have i ported the throttle body wrong? Any advice welcome
Karlosfandango I think the tb momentarily slams shut when the ecu senses something awry in the emissions, like excess air, could be an air leak somewhere. I'm sure Edbutler had something similar happen. Best to wait for Vocky as I'm probably talking nonsense 😉
markv Known problem. Seems to be the EGR code in the ECU. I have the problem too on my car. The ECU still compensates the air/fuel mixture when actuating the EGR. Although it gets the correct signal back if you have the EGR simulator, it will asume there was a certain amount of exhaust gasses fed back into the inlet. It will decrease the amount of fuel (sometime quite a lot!) to compensate for the loss of oxygen. But this doesn't really happen. So you get a lean mixture (no oxygen actually disappeared). So lean that it sometimes doesn't ignite.. Mark
vocky you are far too clever Mark  well done for figuring that out, so basically the ecu map needs the egr function disabling and that will cure the problem. now if someone could actually disable the egr.........

Yup.. If you have an astra/zafira/vectra it is sometimes possible to get it disabled by vauxhall. There are software versions without EGR control. I think Peter is almost there on the vx220 version.. OAKMERE Thanks Mark I now know what it is I have had this problem since fitting the 2.4 Manifold but it was so intermittent that I thought it was a bad connection somewhere. I can stop looking now. Cheers Oakmere
