chris22vectraB hi i have a vectra 2.2 sri 2001 , brought 3 months ago . since then its been leaking oil from rear main crankshaft oil seal. well its just been replaced for the 2nd time ! and its still leaking has anyone got any suggestions plz :crazy:
vocky it really shouldn't leak once replaced, did you pay a garage to do the work ? it's a major job to change (gearbox out and flywheel off) maybe they didn't do the work !
chris22vectraB think we found the problem the oil is leakin from a small hole next to the oil seal will try to upload a pic
vocky that hole is to allow the excess gasket sealant to escape when the engine is assembled, so they probably didn't put enough silicone sealant at that point. just add some sealant after cleaning away any oil 🙂
