Spark Plug Gaps

You think the gap in this is a little bit small? Maybe that's why the engine's not running cryb..

So... erm. I'm after a new engine. Has anyone who got one from the US got any pointers, or the name of a good place to get 2.0 SCs from?
I'm also considering a 2.4 VVT, as it'd probably be nice and torquey and reliable - and I don't need the intercooler rad. I don't mind re-wiring the new ECU into the VX220, but I'm not sure what happens with the immoboiliser. Do US cars have the same arrangement with the ECU talking to the key? I guess if I can't get the US ECU going then an aftermarket VVT is going to be £££!

Took the head off today... And some more engine pictures:

So one of the BRAND NEW valves that I bought from Autovaux has lost its head, and it has rattled around doing some pretty nasty damage - including dislodging the valve seat, and generally destroying my nice flowed head 🙁 It's amazing what damage has been done in what could only have been 2 seconds of running.

Looks like the piston + cylinder head are scrap now, but luckily my cams are still in one piece.

fu@king hell that is so bad i cant belive that they can just do that.
that has destroyed the pistion just shows how not string they are really.
sorry to hear about this tho, i have heard that you can gett the 2.2 engine from the states with stupid power as well.

blimey that has caused a mess !

the head isn't very thick is it, so that coupled with the hole in the piston accounts for why the sump is full of coolant 🙁

looks like the seat fell out, which stopped the valve from closing.....
