Evening gents, i have a question. My gearbox on astra g coupe 2.2 is a little noise when in neutral with clutch out. My mechanic had a look at it today and explained what might be wrong. Long story short, im just going to add an additive to quiet it down, but want to make sure its got enough oil...

so here is my 6 speed conversion adventure it will take a while but i now have the box and shafts time to get the clutch changed and the attaching parts to make it work thanks to 20vt for the box :) removing the engine and gearbox the technical way got the box on the bench to inspect...

Finally changed the engine oil on the VXR today. Did it in my lunch at work in the car park, as it's nice and flat. Also while I was at it, I've been reading a lot about Extralube's ZX1, and recently added 220ml to the engine, and it made quite a difference to the overall feel of the engine...

Just done an oil change on my mates 1.9 CDTI Astra gear box, and have got it down to under an hour start to finish now. (y) He noticed a difference straight away, and we've also added to ZX1 additive to his as well.

hopefully my 6 speed gearbox will arrive soon dunno.. I managed to locate a flood damaged 2007 2.2 vectra with only 5000 miles on the clock being broken for spares, the deal was done within minutes :lol: I will add all the info in this thread. the donor car.......
