Replaced battery on my zafira after advised to by rac. Car started but really misfires esp under load then cut out and wouldn't start just turns over. I kept trying then realised I couldn't hear the lift pump from the back like you usually can when you turn key to the position before starting...

Possibly but if it was the coil pack wouldn't it just turn over but not fire up? It is like that at times but often all I am just getting is a click noise. I'm thinking now is it a bad connection or earth somewhere.

changed crank sensor today. started it up ran for about 10mins fine so switched it off. 5 mins later went to start it again to take it out for a test cuts straight out then wont start just that clicking noise again. Its something at the top of the engine clicking tho around the fuel rail I think...

Tried to go out last night and wouldn't even start just turned over and over. This morning tried it and doesn't even do that just a strange click noise. I've done a quick video of it. Any ideas very welcome.

bit of an update. I replaced the CTS and it was ok for a week so just starting hope it possibly could be it but the problem returned with a vengeance yesterday and today. Interesting thing is when I checked the codes it had the usual 4 codes for the coils. P0351-08 and the same for the other 3...

Thanks for the reply. It's already had all those problems and had a replacement hp fuel pump and regulator fitted just under 2 years ago. Also I would have thought I'd be getting fuel pressure codes wouldn't I?

So I'm planning on changing the coolant sensor tomorrow and see if it helps. Is the crank sensor a simple enough job or is it difficult to get to?
