your van is looking smart (y)

sounds raspy and like its blowing from idle upto around 4500rpm.
think it will sound nice with a set of 45mm jenvey's :)
when you fit a new diff it may pay you to look at an astra turbo final drive. taller top end so better for motorway speeds, or a 6 speed box?

The new gearbox has got the shirt ratio final drive so I need to change it anyway and was thinking about the turbo one as there capable of 170mph or more which like you say would be alot better on the motorway..

I dont think the tullet manifolds sound too bd Chris. Sounded worse with the standard down pipe, but with the 2.5" piper down pipe, it sounded much better. I for sure wouldn't get rid of it.

The more I look into it the more it seems to be a case of personal preference.
I'm definitely going to try it before I make a decision.
I do have the manifold and downpipe with a sports cat also supplied by them but don't know if it's actually a Chris tullet sports cat or not.

Best way Chris. Try it first and see how you get on.

May sound different again with forced induction. But they are a good free flowing manifold. At leat you know you'all get good money for it, if you decide to sell it on!

Well I think I'm going to take my van to santa pod on the 30th and see what times it runs then I'll do it again with the low mileage engine and new manifold and exhaust and see if there's any difference lol my next big purchase is definitely going to be a quaife diff.
Instead of going for massive power I want to get what I have perfect before going any faster.
The 2 things that bother me are wheel spins in first and sometimes second and understeer.
I might be buying some kW variant II coilovers for the front from a mate so no can get the front properly set up but it depends if he will sell them lol

Haha unless its wet mine grips pretty well since fitting pirelli p7 tyres but first and second still aren't good enough..
I do drive it hard but try not to spin it up to much
Atm I can't justify a forged build so I want to make what I've got as good as possible.

i dont try to spin the wheels, just give it to much sometimes and she makes a break for it
diff helps along with good tyres and suspension set up

i dont turn my tc off :) but then the light never comes on with the atb fitted
good tires are key
also try taking the shaft seal off the top mounts may be whats causing the excessive wheel spin :)

My tyres are very good it doesn't spin in the dry apart from 1st but it pulls away quick..
That seal was a test tbh I'm not sure why everyone wants to close that gap but I thought I'd try it and it makes no difference what so ever lol they are actually off now and new donuts put on. Tbh it didn't make any difference to wheel spin handling or anything that I noticed but either way they didn't work lol

My plan is new diff new shafts new and lower arms etc and go from there..
I've seen a few people fit a mk5 front anti roll bar as it's thicker but I haven't seen or heard anyone say it's improved anything and the same with a vxr rear Axle they look more substantial but I've not seen proof it actually does anything

twintop front anti roll bar think its 24mm it was a mod i had considered but cant see the point ive not past the point of the standard 20mm bar yet but running an almost standard suspension setup just the bushings to firm it up

Tbh apart from some understeer it handles really well and I've always thought understeer is partly there due to the front being to stiff so that makes me think it will make it worse
